No, we do not offer a shuttle service or any other extras. If you do not plan to rent a car or a motorbike, you can arrive at THE BASE by bus (please check https://www.e-ktel.com/services/dromologia), by taxi (approx. EUR 50; distance 36 km), or by private transportation. Should you need our assistance at any point, please get in touch with us.

THE BASE offers a peaceful mountain view at the White Mountais (Lefka Ori). You have a partial sea view from the roof terrace.

The beach is approximately 200 m away. Simply walk to the left and straight. Note that during high season, you will need to rent a beach chair, or you can choose to lay directly on the sand.

Yes, several restaurants and coffee shops are at 2-4 minutes walk distance. At approximately 3-10 minutes you will find a grocery store and a bakery. You will find more stores in Kalyves or Plaka, which are 3-10 minutes away (by car).

Almyrida is not a party town, there are no clubs and just a few party locations. This makes it to an ideal location for families and those who want to chill.

THE BASE offers a spacious area for 5 to 6 people. The apartment has three levels; in the basement, there is a master bedroom with a king-size bed 1,80×200 and can add a baby cot as needed. This level has its own bathroom with a sink and walk-in shower. In the basement you will also find the wash mashine and a household cupboard with cleaning products, as well as a vacuum cleaner.

The kitchen and living room are on the ground floor, and two more rooms are on the first floor. Room 1 has a double bed 1,60×200 and offers space for two people; room 2 has two single beds, each 80×200, which can be put together to form one bed 160×200.

The entire apartment offers enough space for a family of four or two to three couples. We welcome at most six guests (infants not counted). As we want you to feel comfortable, we do not welcome bigger parties. If you need a bigger apartment to accommodate your needs, please get in touch with us; we might be able to help you find references for other apartments around here.

Unfortunately, THE BASE is not appropriate for pets. Even if we love pets, we must unfortunately deny them access.

THE BASE has interior stairs, making it an inappropriate choice for people in a wheelchair or with other mobility issues.

Yes, however, just like every new location, you must supervise your kids as a parent. Especially on the upper floor, the staircase area can be dangerous for toddlers. Please keep in mind that the apartment has many stairs as it is divided into three floors and a roof terrace. Although the outside area is well secured, risks are everywhere, as there are stairs in the outside area as well. Please watch our video and pictures before booking and judge if you will feel safe with your children/toddlers or infants in THE BASE.

The fee includes accommodation costs, as well as cleaning prior to your arrival and after your departure. Additional local taxes will be charged and vary upon season between 0,50-1,50 EUR per night.

THE BASE is a fully equipped accommodation, you will find in the bathrooms amenities as shampoo, conditioner and body lotion, as well as hair dryer. In the kitchen you will find stove with oven, microwave, fridge with freezer, dishwasher, a water dispenser, as well as coffee machines (brewing coffee, espresso, machine for greek coffee and Frappé). To our amenities count also a wash machine (no dryer), as well as cosy roof terrace with BBQ area. A second BBQ is on the veranda on the ground floor.

No additional cleaning during your stay is included. If you wish cleaning service during your stay, we will be happy to arrange this for you at extra charge.

You will receive a welcome package, as well as our bags and slippers. Please leave at THE BASE all bathrobes, towels, bed linen and other household goods.

Two parking lots in front of THE BASE are reserved only for you.

Please bear in mind that parking is not supervised and outdoor (which means it can get pretty warm during summer months).

Yes, but we may unfortunately not allow you to use it at this time. Recent legislation requires for pools deeper than 1,40 m the presence of a lifeguard and we could not fullfill this requirement. Therefore we must kindly ask you not to use the pool. The beach is only 200 meters away and… yes, we ARE working on a long term solution in order to be able to allow our guests to use the common pool!

Yes, our policies require a minimum of five (5) nights.

If you want to proceed to booking, please open the booking mask and insert your preferred travel dates and the number of visitors. If you enter less than five nights, the system will show an error or unavailability.

Once the system indicates availability, it will display the total. The total includes overnight fees, local fees and taxes, and cleaning fees.

Follow the instructions and insert your personal data.

At the end of the booking procedure, you will receive details in order to proceed to payment. Please note that we require an advance payment of 30% upon booking, the remaining 70% needs to be paid within 10 days prior to your arrival.

Please keep in mind that we will cancel your reservation if you do not remit the deposit within three working days. The same applies if you do not remit full payment prior to your arrival.

Please keep in mind that we require an additional deposit of EUR 400. Once you have checked out and within approximately seen (7) working days, we will refund your security deposit in full, unless there are additional unplanned charges as damages or losses.

If you cancel your trip or stay with us up to 60 days before arrival, there is no cancellation fee.

If you cancel your trip or stay with us 30 days before arrival, we charge a 30% cancellation fee.

If you do not remit full payment up to 10 days before arrival, we will not refund your deposit and must cancel your reservation.

For no-shows or cancellations during your stay for reasons beyond our responsibility, there is no refund.

If no payment of the deposit is made within three working days of booking, we will cancel your reservation.

Once your reservation is completed and you have remitted the full payment, you will receive an email with the code for the key lock. Check-in is 2 pm, and check-out is by 11 am.

You will also find the number of a contact person in the apartment during your stay, whom you may call with any questions that may arise during your stay.

You will receive two keys. Please understand that we will charge you EUR 40 if you return just one key to us. If you lose or do not return both keys, we will change the lock for security reasons and charge you the costs.

Check-out is by 11 am, and you are kindly asked to leave the keys on the kitchen table.

If you wish to check in before 2 pm and/or after 11 am, please contact us in advance at reservation@thebase.gr. Earlier check-in and later check-out are subject to availability.

We have a TV, offering programmes through satellite or antenna.

At THE BASE we take sustainability seriously and work slowly but surely towards policies which will implement our commitment to environmental responsibility. Sustainability is a game changer, as it helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions and at the same time, saves costs; which again, reflects on our price calculation.

We take little steps at a time, but constantly and with persistence. Small changes make a huge difference down the road.

Please support us and share our efforts, it is really easy! Here are a few basic steps:

Energy efficiency

We are using LED lightning and try to consume as less electricity as possible. Think twice when using the dishwasher or wash mashine, perhaps you can reduce energy with as little as one less load.

Water conservation

Crete is blessed with almost 350 sunny days per year and this means, our water is heated by the sun. In conserving water, you might want to restrict the time of your showers and use the low-flow toilet flusher.

Energy sources

We are planning to use very soon renewable energy sources (solar energy).

Materials in the apartment

We provide wherever possible mostly organic sheets including cotton and organic linen.

We encourage our cleaning team to use only environmentally friendly cleaning materials.

We exchange little by little existing furniture by furniture made of sustainable materials. This could take us a while, but we are on the way.

Waste separation

We ask you to divide your trash into recycling trash and non-recycling trash.

We are trying to ban plastic as much as possible. Our shampoo bottles are made of recycling materials. We also provide a water dispenser, which saves lots of plastic resulting from water bottles.

Other steps towards sustainability

We provide two bicycles. For reasons of liability, we do not encourage you to use them, but you may do so if you decide to and judge that it is safe for you. The use is at your own risk.

We support locals by buying as much of our products as possible from locals and regional businesses.

We make sure to cooperate only with businesses which guarantee fair pay and working conditions to their employees. We support the local community as much as we can.

We are trying to do our part to protect the land and the planet by being energy-efficient, water-conserving, waste-reducing, using sustainable materials and supporting locals and fair employers.
